Senior Health Equity Analyst, Central Region

Cynthia Bennett

Cynthia Bennett serves as a Senior Health Equity Analyst for Indiana Healthy Opportunities for People Everywhere (I-HOPE) initiative, a statewide opportunity designed to address the effects of health disparities for better health outcomes. As part of a regional Field Implementation Team, Cynthia brings voices to the table to talk about innovative ways to better connect people with the support they need to get healthy and stay healthy. She works with stakeholders to reach communities who are at higher risk for health disparities and those who are disproportionately affected by the pandemic.

Previous to joining Purdue, Cynthia worked for 18 years for Roche Diagnostics where she gained a vast amount of experience in clinical care. As Psychological Safety Lead for North America she reported to the company's North American headquarters in Basel, Switzerland. During her career with Roche, Cynthia worked heavily within the not-for-profit space to meet the needs of underserved communities. She worked in a leadership capacity for Roche's African American Business Resource Group and its Women in Leadership group. She served as campus lead for JA JobSpark’s Advanced Manufacturing, and led numerous volunteer efforts to meet the needs of vulnerable populations including, but not limited to, the Indiana Black and Minority Health Fair, Winter Coat Distribution for Children in Need, the Indianapolis Urban League, Indianapolis Public Schools, Mozel Sanders food distribution, and Pack-Away-Hunger.

Cynthia earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health Administration from the IU Richard Fairbanks School of Public Health and a Master’s in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. She serves (as of November 2021) on the board of Women & Hi Tech as its K-12 Outreach Director.
