Senior Health Equity Analyst

Angela Washburn

Angie Washburn serves as a Senior Health Equity Analyst for I-HOPE, a statewide initiative designed to address the effects of health disparities for better health outcomes. Her work is part of Purdue Healthcare Advisors’ partnership with the Indiana Department of Health to better prepare the state for the next pandemic response by addressing health equity and health outcomes in 30 counties considered most vulnerable to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a part of the I-HOPE South Field Implementation Team, Angie brings voices to the table to talk about innovative ways to better connect people with the support they need to get healthy and stay healthy.

Angie brings more than 25 years of business and healthcare experience (both professional and volunteer) to the team to focus on health equity and patient advocacy. From her experience working in hospitals, clinics, labs, and homecare settings, Angie developed a passion for uplifting the healthcare of vulnerable populations. Prior to joining Purdue, Angie joined forces with the National Patient Safety Board and worked collaboratively with the University to address patient outcome initiatives. Her past work includes roles as entrepreneur and principal investigator; consultant; and positions that involved grant procurement and management as well as government contract work. 

Angie is a registered respiratory therapist and certified community healthcare worker (CHW) with a bachelor's degree in business administration. Having lived all of her life in Indiana, Angie is determined to bring positive change to Indiana's healthcare environment. She recognizes that it all starts by listening.
