Technical Assistance
HealthTAP works on a fee-for-service contract basis with hospitals and healthcare organizations that are not eligible for grant-subsidized services. We offer technical assistance for the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and Alternative Payment Models (APMs) quality payment programs.
Consultation time is based on the needs of the organization and can include the following:
- Quality payment program eligibility
- Reporting requirements
- High-level data reviews
- Detailed plans to improve performance in all performance categories
- Data reporting assistance for the Quality Payment Program
- Establishment of chronic care management programs to leverage new Medicare bill code changes
In December 2022, CMS announced the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System Data Validation and Audit (MIPS DVA). CMS has contracted with Guidehouse to conduct data validation and audits of MIPS-eligible clinicians for MIPS DVA for 2019, 2020, and 2021 performance years beginning January 2023. HealthTAP offers consultation to efficiently gather the required information and support submissions within the timeframe requested.
In many cases, we pair traditional technical assistance (evidence-based best practices and online/phone help desks) with the application of lean process improvement methodologies/facilitation/training to smooth the transition to new customer service and clinical care models.
